Who is Loretta?

Loretta’s Kitchen is a taste of her life: capturing the incredible food, stories and laughter her kitchen has generated for over 30 years.photo-15.jpg

Loretta’s Kitchen has mastered unique Caribbean dishes from the vibrant streets of Guyana to the sandy beaches of Tobago before sending tremors of freshness and adventure to the palettes of London.

As Loretta’s daughter, her influence lives within me. Every dish has a sentimental value,

I cook not only because of the memories it evokes and the legacy that has been passed on to me.

Feel at home in Loretta’s Kitchen and in her own words “Ay! Come taste this nah?!”

    • Thank you April! I hope you enjoy making them as much as I do 🙂 Just out of interest, how did you hear about the blog?

    • Thank you Morgan! I truly appreciate your shout out on twitter…thank you for stopping by!

    • Thank you – such kind words!! I really appreciate the time you have taken to comment on my page. All the best with you!

      • Thanks.. I just thought I’d take a look and see if I find some Trini recipes… Plus you did show some support for my blog!

    • Sadly my mother passed away 11 years ago, this blog is really a tribute to her and the cooking we shared growing up. It was one of her ambitions to have a shop: we actually started selling roti from our kitchen at one stage.

  1. Oh gosh. I am as pleased as punch that I have found this blog. I was looking for a recipe for pine tarts today. Of course my Guyanese mother and grandmother know how to make pine tarts but I was always more interested in eating them-rather than learning how to make them. How times change….I look forward to checking out the rest of your blog. Cheers. x
